When the leaves begin to change and pumpkin spice lattes return, we know it’s officially fall! But the weather doesn’t necessarily follow suit until later in the year. Transitioning your closet from summer to fall can be a challenge, so take a look at a few of our favorite ways to make the seasonal shift!
Skirt + Sweater
One of our favorite ways to introduce fall styles is by wearing layers that still show some skin. This scalloped striped sweater ($59) pairs perfectly with a corduroy mini skirt ($42) and a pendant necklace ($28). The colors and fabrics scream “autumn,” without causing you to melt in the Tennessee heat!
Every girl should own a handful of graphic tees with her favorite band name or life mantra written all over it. From summer to fall, graphic tees can be layered and tucked in so many ways, allowing you to easily add a light structured jacket as the temperature drops to extend the life of your tee year-round. This “carpe diem” tee ($44) with black pleated shorts ($39), tortoise shell hoops ($26) and a hobo bag ($69) takes a sassy spin on a casual tee.
Not all sweaters are created equal. When transitioning from summer to fall, the lighter the layer the better. This light-knit sweater ($46) tucked into a suede mini ($44) with sunglasses ($19) and layered necklaces ($16, $24) is a flirty fall look we love!
When in doubt, throw on a flannel! Adding a flannel to any look says “fall, y’all!” if you ask us. One of the best ways to do this in the early weeks of fall is to layer over your favorite dresses or skirts. This washed denim mini dress ($59) pairs perfectly with a fray-hem flannel ($49). Darker accessories like a black hobo bag ($69) and suede choker ($16) are perfect to wear in the fall months!
We didn’t lie when we said the jumpsuit would be a staple in 2018. This striped, cap-sleeved jumpsuit ($59) is a perfect example of a piece you can wear through the seasons. While the sun is still shining, we love it with simple beaded bracelets ($22) and earrings ($18). Throw on a cardigan and suede hat, and you’re ready for a fall festival!
